The Podiatric State Board Preparatory Course is for Medical Assistants or other professionals employed at a Podiatric Practice who want to become a certified PTR (P) referred to now as CPTP (late 2018) by the Arizona Department of Health. The oversight of those applying radiation to our families and neighbors was removed from trained professionals in Medical Radiologic Technology and the agency was permanently closed.
Course tuition is not transferable.

The student has 16 weeks to complete the course. At the end of the 16 weeks, the student is no longer enrolled, access to the course and final exam is terminated and the student is no longer entitled to a Letter of Completion.
All course work is completed by distance learning; access to a PC is necessary. Most libraries in Arizona State allow residents to reserve an hour of computer time per week.
After the ASPTR receives the enrollment documents a Quizlet invitation will be emailed to the student within 7 days.

Students must pass the course final with a score of 70% or better to be eligible to apply for the Arizona State Board Examination however, a FINAL EXAM SCORE OF 95% OR BETTER IS STRONGLY RECCOMENDED. A final exam failure will trigger a 3 week extension, a second failure will trigger a 4 week extension. The student must pass on or before the third and final attempt.
PTR (P)'s are required to complete 2 CEU's every two years per Arizona State regulations.
PTR (R)'s are required to complete 6 CEU's every two years per Arizona State regulations.
CEU's can be from any organization recognized by ASRT, ARRT in addition to the courses offered on this website through the ASPTR. All courses must be related to your radiography or patient care in your scope of practice in order to qualify for your certificate renewal..
